Welcome to the new "modern" SPEEDO. We're constantly trying to reinvent (changing) ourselves and make SPEED'S newsletter more student friendly and interactive. This will also stop clogging (file is too large) everyone's email inbox:) Now students will be able to post comments and request information whenever they want! We'll still try and make it as fun as past SPEEDOS...

• Announcement of the week.

Well, it is a sad day at SPEEDO because both the "Dear Speedo" and "Classified" sections will be omitted (not in Speedo anymore) because of the lack of response. Hopefully something new and fresh will soon come to the mind of the genius behind this fantastic newsletter.

• Picture of the week

Matt and Holly enjoying an authentic "home-cooked" Polish meal at Lee's flat. That night's menu consisted of potatoes, broccoli, and schabowy. The next night was truly from Silesia... we had rolada, kluski, i kapusta czerwona:)












• Random stuff


It was a really fun student/ teacher weekend in the great city of Krakow. Students from the groups California and Rockfield where joined in a night of festivities with teachers Jan, Timi, and Lee.A special “thank you” goes out to Andzej Mikos from California. It was his idea to create the new “SPEEDO BLOG”. Thanks Andzej!







• Sports

Thanks to all the students who participated in “Sports Club” this weekend. There were so many students and teachers playing football that 3 teams had to be created. Hopefully next time there will be even more students because it looked as if some people needed a longer break in between games...


It’s that time again, it happens only once a year, the greatest two weeks in sports. MARCH MADNESS!!! For those of you who don’t know, March Madness is the championship tournament for American University Basketball (NCAA). The most competitive, most exciting, most REAL sports competition you can watch. It starts with 64 teams and it is up to you to pick and choose which teams will make it to the FINAL FOUR. Number 1 ranked schools play number 16 school, number 4 schools play number 7 schools and so on... It’s fun, chaotic and upsets (lower ranked teams beating higher ranked teams) happen every year.

Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to join Speed’s group and pick your teams that you want to win online. If you really want to spice-up (make more exciting) the competition, we will be doing a tournament pool. 10 zloty enters you into the pool, winner takes all (winner wins everyone’s money) All money needs to be in by next week. (talk to LEE)
